Handling options
Our services have various handling options, which affect the postage fee: the easy and familiar manually sortable, machine-sortable for mail fit for mechanical processing, and batch-sorted (bundled).
Manual sorting
Manual sorting suits senders who appreciate easy posting, since manually sorted items do not require special pre-processing. They are posted in boxes with the address information facing the same direction. Furthermore, we recommend that large items be posted separately from small ones.
Manually sortable items can be almost any shape and colour; soft, slippery, green, red or plump. Moreover, the recipient’s address can be hand-written on them. Regardless of their shape and colour, however, the items must meet the product specifications of manually sortable items.
Mechanical sorting
Mechanical sorting is suitable for items that meet the requirements set for dimensions, weight, shape, colour and contents of machine sortable items.
Batch-sorting, i.e. bundling
Batch sorting, or bundling, is ideal for large mailings and requires more specific pre-processing. Items must be sorted in ascending postal code order and bundled by postal code, delivery post office, postal code area or sorting centre.
Guide for batch-sorted postal items (addressing, bundling and loading into transport units)
(instructions for adresses, bundling and Transport unit unitisation) provides specific instructions for bundling standards and models.
If the mailing volume is below 100 items or the items are not sorted and bundled in accordance with batch-sorting specifications, they are priced as manually-sortable.
