Consumer target groups
Consumer target groups can be defined on the basis of dozens of characteristics related to people, buildings, or vehicles. We can use external data sources or your company’s own customer database to retrieve consumers that meet the selected criteria. Target group information is collected from the information systems maintained by the Population Register Center and the Finnish Vehicle Administration. The addressed service puts the databases of the Population Information System and the Vehicular and Driver Data Register at your disposal around the clock, while the unaddressed service gives you 24/7 access to Itella’s own data on household numbers. When your marketing targets companies, you have access to Itella’s business databases. The aTarget tool will help you to design target groups quickly and easily. Targeting
A message reaches its destination when it is sent to the right recipients. Suitable target groups are formed by copying the best suited customers from mass databases, such as the Population Information System or the Vehicle Information System. The goal of targeting is to use existing customer segmentation or profiles to pinpoint the appropriate recipients from external address databases. Companies can also apply targeting to their own customer registers with the help of mass database demographics and autographics.
Population Information System
The Population Information System is a database maintained by the Population Register Center, which includes all Finns. The service can be used to select a target group on the basis of, for example, name, age, gender, mother tongue, profession, income, or summer house. Database information can also be transferred to your own customer register using the criteria you select. We will remove any overlaps on your behalf, if required.
Vehicle Information System
The Vehicle Information System is a service maintained by the Finnish Vehicle Administration, which contains all consumers with a vehicle or a driver’s license. Target groups can be selected on the basis of, for example, registration date, body structure, body type, gender and age of owner/holder, or insurance company. Target groups can also be selected on the basis of the s ACORN residential area classification.
